What does treatment involve?
Dental veneers are very thin pieces of durable ceramic material that Dr. Abbey Lee uses to camouflage cosmetic flaws in otherwise healthy teeth. Veneers are placed on the front of teeth that are visible in the smile. Usually, veneers can completely cover the following cosmetic issues, for teeth that are:
- Chipped
- Stained
- Unevenly spaced
- Misshapen
- Dull or discolored
Treatment is non-invasive and, on average, takes just two appointments. To begin, Dr. Lee takes impressions and/or 3D images of your teeth to aid in the fabrication of the dental veneers. Next, Dr. Lee prepares your teeth by removing thin layers of enamel, in order to help the veneers bond to the tooth, as well as to ensure that the veneers will look as natural as possible. Temporary veneers are often placed until the final, customized veneers are completed at the dental lab. Once the final veneers are ready, Dr. Lee adheres them to the natural teeth using a strong dental cement, and makes any final tweaks to the shape and size of the veneers. Your new smile can last anywhere from 10-15 years with proper care and oral hygiene.
How much do they cost?
Since veneers offer the same final results of orthodontics, dental bonding, and professional whitening —and last for up to 15 years — they are a more expensive cosmetic treatment. While their lifespan is quite long, veneers are not permanent; they do have to be replaced after years of normal wear and tear. This is because the amount of enamel that is removed in order to place veneers is significant, and leaves your teeth too vulnerable to be unprotected without veneer covers. When calculating costs, it’s important to remember this, and factor in long-term maintenance costs for this treatment.
On average, dental veneers cost anywhere from $900 to $2,000 per tooth. Dr. Abbey Lee can offer a more exact estimate, based on your unique smile, during your initial cosmetic consultation.
Cosmetic procedures like veneers usually are not covered by dental insurance. However, at Smiles 4 Grant Park, we offer dental financing plans such as Lending Club, American Healthcare Lending, and CareCredit. These financing plans can translate treatment costs into affordable monthly payments—often with zero or very low interest. Affordable monthly payments mean that investments to improve your smile through porcelain veneers, or other cosmetic or restorative procedures are more attainable for you or your family. In addition, we proudly accept credit card payments for all treatments at our practice.
