How Is A Broken Tooth Fixed?
October 18, 20194 Tips for a Whiter Smile
November 1, 2019At Smiles 4 Grant Park, we are proud to offer innovative All-on-4 dental implants. If you have multiple missing or failing teeth, All-on-4 dental implants can restore your smile’s strength and function. Unlike traditional implant-retained dentures that utilize at least six implants in each arch, All-on-Four dental implants only use four implants per arch. Fewer dental implants mean a faster procedure and recovery time. You can receive all four implants and a fixed set of teeth in just one dental appointment and a completely new smile in as little as six months.
Dr. Abbey J. Lee is prepared and excited to help you gain back your confidence and quality of life. Contact our team at Smiles 4 Grant Park today to schedule your initial consultation at 404-328-7177.
The Treatment Process
To begin the All-on-4 dental implant process, you will meet with Dr. Lee so she can verify your candidacy. Basically, if you are in good health and missing most of your teeth, need most of your teeth extracted, or are already wearing dentures, you are the ideal candidate. At the initial appointment, Dr. Lee will examine your teeth, gums, and jawbone to ensure your mouth is healthy and strong enough to undergo surgery.
Here is a step-by-step overview of the rest of the All-on-4 implant process:
- Initial appointment. At this time, Dr. Lee and her team will take impressions, photos, and x-rays of your mouth and assess your bite. This information will be used to determine the most beneficial placement of the implants.
- Surgery. Before your procedure, Dr. Lee will administer local anesthesia, nitrous oxide, or oral conscious sedation to ensure that you are comfortable during the surgery. Next, she will make small incisions in your gums and insert the dental implants. You will then be given a temporary set of fixed teeth. Dr. Lee will give you and your caretaker specific post-surgery instructions.
- Two-week checkup. During this appointment, Dr. Lee will assess your incisions and remove any stitches that were placed on the day of surgery.
- Three-month checkup. Dr. Lee will ensure you are recovering smoothly and that the implants are properly integrating with your jawbone through x-rays.
- Abutment placement. Once your mouth has healed, Dr. Lee will place abutments
toon the top of your implant posts. These will help keep your restorations in place. - Restoration preparation. New impressions are taken to aid in the design and creation of your permanent fixed teeth.
- Restoration placement. Once the restoration is completed, Dr. Lee will connect your new set of teeth to the abutments. You will walk out of our office with your permanent, customized set of teeth.
