Enjoy a Whiter, Brighter Smile by Visiting Dr. Lee in Atlanta

Staining or discoloration of your teeth can make you self-conscious, causing you to hide your teeth instead of talking, laughing, or smiling like everyone else. Imagine being able to speak boldly in your next office meeting or laughing freely with friends. At Smiles 4 Grant Park,  Dr. Abbey Lee provides professional teeth whitening to help patients achieve a beautiful smile that boosts confidence for your everyday life.

To find out if you’re a good candidate for teeth whitening, set up a consultation online or call 404-328-7177.

Causes of Dental Staining

Many of our patients have good oral health but struggle with tooth discoloration. Stains are caused by a variety of factors, such as:

  • Smoking or using tobacco
  • Drinking coffee, wine, sodas, and sports drinks
  • Eating dark or acidic fruits and vegetables like berries, grapes, beets, and tomatoes
  • Taking tetracycline antibiotics
  • Aging
  • Genetics
  • Ingesting fluoride as a child

Dr. Lee and our team can help you determine what is causing your teeth to stain and, if it’s in your control, help you find ways to prevent it.

Lessen Staining

There are a few things you can start doing now to reduce discoloration in your teeth.

  1. Drink through a straw. This will keep the liquids away from your teeth.
  2. Cut back on teeth-staining fruits and vegetables. Of course, blueberries, strawberries, and tomatoes are good for your health, so you don’t want to eliminate them completely from your diet. But you can replace a portion of them with options like broccoli, apples, and melons.
  3. Rinse and brush. After eating, swish water around your mouth and, if your toothbrush is nearby, brush your teeth. If not, chewing sugarless gum will help clean your teeth.
  4. Attend regular dental cleanings. One of the best things you can do for your smile is visit your dentist every six months. Our hygienist will thoroughly clean your teeth to remove plaque and tartar, as well as surface stains. Dr. Lee can detect any other dental problems you may have and create a treatment plan.

If it’s been six months or more since you’ve visited the dentist, it’s time for a checkup and cleaning. Contact our office today to set up an appointment and ask about our teeth whitening special.
